Brother Goodwin was elected Southeastern Regional Director at the 2008 Regional Conference in Durham, North Carolina on March 8, 2008. Brother Goodwin is a native of Charleston, South Carolina, and is the proud offspring of a Sigma/Zeta union. Both parents are active members of the Charleston Alumni Sigma and Zeta chapters.

On November 12, 1988, Brother Goodwin was initiated into the Lambda Psi chapter at the College of Charleston. While a member of Lambda Psi, he received the following honors: Chapter President (1989-90); Southeastern Regional Collegiate Brother of the Year (1991); Southeastern Regional Chapter of the Year (1991-92,

Southeastern Regional Step Champions (1992).

Immediately after his graduation in May 1992, Brother Goodwin moved to Charlotte, North Carolina and transferred his membership to the Beta Rho Sigma chapter. He has served the chapter as follows: Vice President (1993-94); President (1996-98); Director of Bigger & Better Business (1998-99) and Secretary (2000-01).

Since 1999, Brother Goodwin has served the Southeastern Region in many capacities. During his tenure as Director of Collegiate Affairs (1999-2003), he implemented Collegiate Advisor training sessions throughout each state-ensuring that each collegiate advisor participated in a uniform certification process. While North Carolina State Director (2004-08), his board implemented the Suited for Success program, which provided suits and accessories to collegiate brothers and Sigma Beta Club members.

Since 1992, Brother Goodwin has been employed as a Managing Editor for Mergent, Inc., a provider of financial information to research and institutional markets. He received an M.B.A. from Queens University of Charlotte in 1992, and is a P.M.I. Certified Project Management Professional (PMP). He has served on the board of directors at Hands on Charlotte and the National Sigma Beta Club Foundation, and volunteers as a Project Coordinator for the Youth Educational Society of Charlotte, Inc.

Brother Goodwin is a member of Simpson-Gillespie United Methodist Church, where he is as certified Lay Speaker and Co-Chair of the Christian Education Department.

In his spare time, Brother Goodwin enjoys gardening, sports card collecting, and crossword puzzles. His personal motto is “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)
